East Coast to West, a Strength Coach for Conceiving, Pregnant, and Parenting couples.
Whether you’re thinking about kids, going through fertility treatments, pregnant, or a new parent, Colleen’s an expert in enhancing your health through weight lifting, conditioning, balance, and mobility work. Her classes and private sessions attract runners, dancers, gymnasts, CrossFitters, power lifters, to individuals who have never lifted weights before.
Getting strong before you have kids can increase fertility, lower stress, balance hormones, and better your relationship!
Pregnancy itself is hard work on the body! Women trying to maintain their activity can meet obstacles along the way that will slow them down or stop activity all together due to safety precautions. Being strong and mobile helps pregnant women reduce risk of injury in addition to pregnancy-related issues such as gestational diabetes or preeclampsia.
Pregnancy is a perfect time to strength train because a woman’s center of gravity changes, ligaments relax, and normal activity could get irritating (like running) or cause injury. Don’t stop moving because you can’t keep doing the thing (like soccer) that you love! There are ways to maintain your fitness and Colleen is the professional to help you!
The variety of classes Colleen offers is to ensure that all individuals and couples on their procreating journey feel supported, engaged, and strong with those they feel comfortable with. In her experience, Colleen has learned that community is necessary for success. Individuals of specific communities might seek the support of those from the same community, we all do! That’s why she created specific classes for Adopting, LGBT, and Fertility-treatment women and couples. This is not to discourage anyone from coming to the general Pregnancy Strength, Strong Woman, or Power Couple classes. It’s simply an opportunity to build stronger connection with those who know exactly where you’ve been and where you’re trying to go.
Colleen is available to share the importance and evidence-based expertise of pre and postnatal exercise in professional presentations to doctors, midwives, or corporate; educational workshops to women and families; birth class expert on exercise; corporate training; interviews on all media outlets; business to business collaborations; or anything creative you can come up with!
